Water safety demonstration taking place at Blair Drummond Safari Park

Water safety demonstrations

18 June 2025

Think the Safari Park is just about animals? Think again! On Saturday the 28th of June, we’re welcoming a few very special guests – and they’re bringing a fire engine with them, as well as a big splash of lifesaving know-how.

We’ve teamed up with the local fire service to deliver some expert water safety demonstrations, and you’re invited to come along and get involved.

What’s happening?

The fire service will be in the park from 10am, where they’ll be setting up their fire engine and specialist water safety gear. It’s the perfect opportunity to stop by, say hello and get a closer look at the tools they use during rescues.

Later in the day, straight after our 12pm and 2pm Birds of Prey flying displays (held in the arena next to the loch), the real show begins – as the firefighters take to the water for some live demonstrations using the loch itself. You’ll see rescue techniques in action and hear practical advice on how to keep your family safe around water this summer.

Why does it matter?

From swimming in lochs to beach days, we all spend more time around water when the sun’s out – and knowing what to do in an emergency can save lives. These demos are a brilliant way to pick up tips in a setting that’s engaging and informative.

We’ll see you there!
