Water safety demonstration at Blair Drummond Safari Park

Live water safety demos at the Safari Park

26 May 2026

Something a little different is making a splash at the Safari Park this week – and it’s not an animal!

On Friday the 29th of May, we’re welcoming our local fire service back to the park for some live water safety demonstrations, giving visitors the chance to pick up practical, potentially life-saving advice in a fun, hands-on setting right in the heart of the park.

From 10am, the team will be on site with their gazebo which will be set up on the grass near the entrance to the Birds of Prey area, right beside the flagpoles. They’ll be available throughout the day with information leaflets and happy to chat with visitors about staying safe around water as we head into the warmer months.

After both the 12pm and 2pm flying displays, the team will deliver their live water safety demonstrations. Expect clear, easy-to-follow demonstrations that show what to do in different water-related situations, with simple techniques and guidance brought to life in real time.

It’s the kind of practical advice that’s especially important at this time of year, when more of us are heading to beaches, lochs, rivers and pools to enjoy the outdoors. While water is a brilliant place to spend time, it can also be unpredictable – and knowing how to react in an emergency really does make a difference.

If you’re in the park on Friday, make sure to pop along too one of the demonstrations.  You might walk away with something you never expected to learn at a safari park.

We’ll hopefully see you there.
