Join us for Ungulate Day this weekend

17 June 2026

This Saturday, we’re celebrating some of the most fascinating animals in the park with a day dedicated to all things ungulate.

If you’ve never heard the term before, ungulates are hoofed mammals, including species like rhinos, giraffes, deer, antelope and goats. They can be found in habitats all over the world and have evolved some incredible adaptations to help them survive.

Between 10am and 4pm, our Education team will be based in their gazebo beside the sea lion pool with a range of hands-on activities for curious minds of all ages.

From matching hooves to the correct species and creating your own ungulate, to testing your dung detective skills and getting up close to a real giraffe skull, there’ll be plenty to discover throughout the day.

You’ll also have the chance to learn more about the ungulate species that call Blair Drummond home, explore how our keepers use browse and enrichment to encourage natural behaviours, and find out about the conservation work supported through our Link to the Wild programme.

We’ll be running a tombola throughout the day, with all proceeds going to our Link to the Wild conservation partners. Prizes include ungulate-themed goodies and the chance to win an exclusive on-the-day encounter with some of our Pets’ Farm ungulates.

Whether you’re a wildlife enthusiast, an aspiring conservationist or simply looking for a fun family activity, Ungulate Day is a great opportunity to get hands-on, learn something new and celebrate some of the park’s most impressive animals.

See you there!
