We’ve got some new feathered friends settling into Pets’ Farm, and we couldn’t be happier to welcome them to the Blair Drummond family.
For the first time since 2023, chickens are back at the park!
Our newest arrivals are a bonded group of four rescue chickens – three hens and a cockerel – who came into the care of the Scottish SPCA before finding their forever home with us.
Their names? Claire, Faye, Lisa, and H. If those sound familiar, that’s because they are all named after the famous pop group, Steps. And we’re sure they will turn out to be just as iconic!
Before joining us, the flock spent time with our friends at Five Sisters Zoo, who kindly helped quarantine them before they made the journey to Blair Drummond. Thanks to their support, the chickens were happy, healthy and ready to settle into their new home with us.
And what a home it is! Our team has built the flock their very own custom-made coop, affectionately named Cluckingham Palace. Fit for poultry royalty, it’s got everything they need to perch, scratch, dust bathe and enjoy life in Pets’ Farm.
The five newcomers have already settled in brilliantly and are busy exploring every corner of their habitat. Whether they’re pecking around for tasty treats or keeping a watchful eye on everything happening nearby, they’re always entertaining to watch.
While many of the animals at Blair Drummond are part of international conservation breeding programmes, we’re also proud to provide a home for animals in need whenever we can. Giving these five rescue birds a fresh start is just one of the ways we support animal welfare alongside our wider conservation work.
Next time you’re visiting Pets’ Farm, make sure you stop by Cluckingham Palace to meet our newest residents.
