Last Friday, we had the pleasure of hosting ‘Dreamnight’ at Blair Drummond Safari Park once again. Dreamnight is a global event, with over 200 zoos and aquariums participating each year, and we are truly honoured to be a part of it. This special evening, held after hours, is dedicated exclusively to chronically ill, disabled, and disadvantaged children and their families. It’s a VIP event just for them!
Over 1700 VIP guests joined us for a night filled with animal-based fun, treats, and entertainment. In addition to our usual attractions, representatives from Police Scotland, Scottish Fire and Rescue, and Ochils Mountain Rescue were present. Our visitors even enjoyed exciting demonstrations from Police Scotland’s dog unit. The night was a great success and it was wonderful to see everyone coming together to give these children and their families a memorable evening.
Dreamnight would not have been possible without the incredible support of our suppliers and volunteers. Their contributions—whether it was donating time, toys, or providing delicious treats like ice cream—made every moment of the evening unforgettable. Their generosity touched the lives of so many children and families, offering them a chance to simply enjoy being together and create cherished memories.
For many families facing daily challenges, this night was a rare opportunity to leave worries behind and immerse themselves in joy. Here’s what some of our guests had to say:
- “Please keep doing this. I hope you were able to see the sheer joy you brought. Last summer we didn’t get a summer, we were in HDU and PICU. My children have missed birthdays, Christmas and holidays and every time with the fear that this time is the time their sister goes into hospital and doesn’t come home again. Last night they were given something so special, to just be children, enjoy the normal and the wonderful. It truly meant the world to us and has been a very bright light in a very hard year.”
- “Thank you for all the effort and funding which had clearly gone into the evening to make it such a success. Obviously crucial to have sponsors. Appreciate the event and the staff making it all the more special. When we go out on trips with our son, we are lucky if we have 30 minutes before he wants to go home. That makes it very difficult to have family outings. He clearly had so much fun that we were there until the end. Thank you so much.”
We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who played a part—whether by volunteering their time, donating goods, or supporting us in other ways. Your generosity made this night possible and created cherished memories for so many. Thank you for making a difference!
