We’re committed to making Blair Drummond as accessible as possible for all our visitors. You can find out more about access to specific parts of the park here.

Free admission for carers

Disabled visitors who require special assistance receive free admission for one accompanying carer.  You’ll need to add a ‘carer’ to your basket when booking your tickets, and you’ll be asked to show relevant paperwork showing entitlement on arrival at the Park.  This could be evidence of receipt of Adult/Child Disability Payment, a carer’s letter, a PIP letter showing that a carer is required, a ‘plus one’ travel card, or an Access Card.  In the absence of any of the above-mentioned documents, then full admission fees will need to be paid for the visit.

Disabled parking

We have over 70 parking spaces reserved for disabled visitors, which are all clearly marked on our map.  These spaces are reserved for Blue Badge holders.

Accessible toilets

Disabled toilets are located throughout the Safari Park in all our main toilet blocks.  We also have a Changing Places toilet located beside our disabled car park, which can be accessed using a radar key.

Wheelchairs

Most of our pathways are easily accessed by wheelchair.  There are designated wheelchair spaces at our bird of prey display and a limited number of wheelchairs are available for a refundable deposit of £20 from the main gift shop.  We are pleased to offer a range of differently sized wheelchairs.

Assistance dogs

If you require to bring an assistance dog into the park, please inform our admissions staff when you arrive.  Blair Drummond Safari Park reserves the right to require proof of vaccination for any assistance dogs for the safety of our animals.

There are areas in the Safari Park where it is not safe for assistance dogs to enter such as:

  • Our drive-thru animal reserves
  • Birds of Prey centre
  • Lemur Land
  • The walkway by the lion enclosure fence
  • The lion platform
  • The tiger platform
  • Pets’ Farm

Please contact us if you require any further information about specific access or need advice on planning your visit.

Breastfeeding

We are proud to be part of the Breastfeeding Friendly Scotland Scheme.  Parents are welcome to breastfeed anywhere in the park.  We also have a dedicated feeding room located in the restaurant foyer for those who prefer a more private space.

Neurodiverse visitors

No matter which day you visit, there should always be areas of the park that are nice and quiet.  However, we are generally much busier at weekends and during school holidays.    If you would prefer to visit at a quieter time, we recommend booking mid-week during term-time.

We do not have a dedicated quiet place, however our estate is over 160 acres – meaning that there are many easily accessible quiet spaces around the park.  Feel free to venture off into some of our open, green spaces to find a little bit of calm.

If the noise of the day becomes too much, we can also provide ear defenders.  These are available from our gift shop for a returnable deposit of £10.

Queuing

On busy days, we know queue times can be tough.  As such, we do recommend booking either the earliest or the latest time slot as these tend to be the quietest.  Our busy days are usually weekends and during school holidays.

We are also now part of the Hidden Disabilities Scheme.  We are happy to provide our guests with sunflower stickers upon request.  These stickers are designed to let our team know that you might need support, help or a little extra time. Simply show your sticker to our staff members and they will do their best to move you to the front of the queue.

Euan’s Guide

We are listed on Euan’s Guide and are pleased to have worked with them for a number of years to improve our offering.  We are always looking for ways to improve our accessibility within the park.

Reviews

Really good day out with our 4 and 2 year old children. The dinosaur exhibit was the best one we've ever been to
Another fantastic visit to this well looked after safari park . Loads to do and an enjoyable day as usual thank you
There was so much to see and do for all of us, we spent the whole day here! The enclosures were all spacious and well kept with lots of vantage points at different heights for different ages.
We loved the safari park, the enclosure were easy accessed and they had a variety of animals and platforms to see them through
